It started with a camera and a desire.
Motorsports photography is about finding that moment inside the millisecond.
Jacy Norgaard is a 14 year veteran of the Dirt Track photography world who was born into the sport. Growing up at the local asphalt tracks, Jacy would cheer for his father as he competed in the Figure 8 class. Once his dad retired from driving, he started working at Cedar Lake Speedway in Wisconsin and would regularly bring Jacy. Bored from sitting in the infield with nothing to do, Jacy brought along a point and shoot camera one night. Despite the awfulness of his photos, he was hooked!
In 2008 at age 15, Jacy purchased his first professional camera and began covering dirt track races regularly. A year later, Jacy became one of the track photographers at Ogilvie Raceway where he is still a regular contributor. Over the years, Jacy has become one of the top photographers in the region as well as elevating his work to the national stage.
His ability to create breathtaking shots and constantly search for unique looks, has earned him the nickname, “The Wizard“.
Jacy’s work has been published throughout the United States and Canada in various magazines, newspapers, publications, and websites. Jacy is a regular contributor to Dirt on Dirt.com, All The Dirt Racing News, and maintains a monthly column in The Midwest Racing Connection.
